Betty Gay Brightwell, 86, of Birmingham, passed away on November 18, 2022.
She was a native of Moultrie, Georgia, and was born on April 11, 1936, to Willie and Lois Gay. She was a graduate of Moultrie High School. Betty married the love of her life, James H. Brightwell, in 1954.
Betty is survived by her loving husband; her children, Mark (Gwen) Brightwell, Wendy Mabry, Cindy (Thomas) Moor, Eric Brightwell; granddaughter, Amanda (Adam) Boyd; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Lauren James Boyd; step-grandchildren, Lisa Hendrix, Lori (Ryan) Coleman, Matt Moor, Beth Stathers and Corey Moor; step-great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hendrix and Carley Williams, Noah Coleman, Luke Coleman, Caiden Stathers and Leelynd Stathers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Glenn Mabry.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Tuesday, November 22, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The chapel service will begin at 10:00 a.m. The committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Forest Crest Cemetery. Pastor Robert Dabydeen will preside over the services.
