Dora Louella Dollar
(July 15, 1934 — December 21, 2024)
Our beloved Dora Louella Lawrence Dollar went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2024. She attended Bibb County High School and the University of Alabama Extension Center (now UAB). Prior to deciding to be a stay at home housewife and mother, she worked at the Alabama Power Company and Stockham Valve and Fittings in the accounting department. She enjoyed such hobbies as camping, fishing, hiking, crocheting, sewing, playing the piano, cooking and baking (especially goodies for the holidays), gardening and yard work, and attending the University of Alabama football games. She loved the Lord very much and was a long time member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and also attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church and Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded to Heaven by her husband, Leonard Burton (Tommy) Dollar; son, John Michael (Johnny) Dollar; and parents, Threadgill Lawrence and Ila Hicks Lawrence. Her loving survivors are her daughter, Cynthia Denise Dollar; grandchildren, Lauralee Dollar Scroggins (Andrew), Charlotte Dollar, and Jonathan Micah Dollar; great grandchildren, Claire Scroggins and Eleanor Scroggins; and daughter-in-law, Susan Dollar Markman (Bob). She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
