Donna Gail Smothers Walker of Trussville, AL went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 15, 2021. She was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, PCA and was a beloved citizen of the community. Donna was an exceptional educator for 33 years for Trussville City Schools at Paine Primary before she retired in May 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Clifton Reese and Nancy Lenora Reese. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Derek Brian Walker. She had one son and one daughter, Dr. Stephen Walker and Amy Walker. Donna had two brothers (Retired Major USAF Robert Gerald Smothers of Deatsville and David Smothers of Trussville) and one sister (Dr. Phyllis Ingham of Jacksonville). The family will hold a visitation at 10:45 AM on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. Mark Cushman of Briarwood will lead the memorial service at 12:00 PM, which will be immediately followed by a procession to Jefferson Memorial where she will be buried.
