Allan Earll Muddiman

Celebration of An Awesome Person and a Life full of Helping Others, As Allan’s proud and loving father, best friend, and constant companion of his 49 years with me on this earth, I pen a celebration of his big and full life.

Allan Earll Mudiman was born August 21, 1968 to the proud parents of Charles Allan Muddiman and Sheryl Diane Hallock in Center Point Alabama. Allan graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School. He attended Jeff State, UAB, and Auburn University.

My beloved, smart, funny, and one of a kind son broke the mold. He died of a heart attack September 19, 2017. Allan went on to join his beloved Me Maw , Beatrice Muddiman , numerous aunts , uncles and friends to assist in promoting greater levels of laughter, cooking, cleanliness and better organizational skills at the side of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ .

Allan was a great son. He was a good man with a heart of gold. As a member of Trussville Baptist Church, Allan often volunteered as head cook for early men’s breakfast and steak chef at church dinners.

Allan was very civic oriented and worked many hours helping build the new boy’s baseball concession stand and the 4 fields it serves. He loved rock climbing, snow skiing, hang gliding, scuba diving, mountain biking, and fishing.

Allan passionately helped hundreds of men to recovery.

Allan’s greatest love was his wife and high school sweetheart, Jamie Nichols Muddiman. She brought great happiness and laughter to his life, along with his two precious sons, Grayson 2, and Brayden 5. They will all forever celebrate the love of Allan, and he will never be forgotten.

Allan is survived by his wife Jamie, sons Grayson and Brayden, and step-sons Zachary and Nicholas Whitson. His loving father Charles Allan Muddiman, step mother Kaye Broglin and mother, Sheryl Hallock. Father- in- law, Lavon Nichols. Brother, Chad Muddiman. Sisters, Christie Smith and Jennifer Beaumont. . Favorite uncle, Steve Garner. Brother-in-law, Ryan Nichols. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, September 24th with the service following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy Birmingham, Alabama 35235. There shall be no graveside services. We look forward to visiting with all.


Dr. Gary Adams Camp

Dr. Gary Adams Camp, 61, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Dr. Camp was born in Wheeling, WV in 1956. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a distinguished instructor pilot in the T-37 and fighter pilot in the A-10 and F-15E aircrafts with almost 4000 hours of flight time, retiring at the rank of Major. During his service, including combat service in Operation Desert Storm/Shield, Dr. Camp was awarded numerous commendations including the Air Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Training Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Pistol, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.

Following his retirement from military service, Dr. Camp completed a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Campbell University. He subsequently owned and operated Carolina Compounding Center, a specialty pharmacy, in Goldsboro, NC. He proudly provided exceptional care to patients with unique medical needs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen McKenzie Camp, and their three children: Erin Rooker, and husband Griffin Rooker, of Baltimore, MD, Jason Camp of Wilmington, NC, and Steele Camp of Goldsboro, NC , as well as two grandchildren: Dean and Lily Rooker. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harry H. Camp.

A small, private, family memorial will be arranged.

Mary Nell Lee

Mary Nell Lee, age 93, of Mobile, AL passed away on September 30, 2017.

She was a former resident of Center Point, AL and was a member of Living Waters Church in Gadsden, AL.

Mary dedicated many years of service in children’s ministry through various churches and worked as a childcare provider for several years. She was a Pink Lady hospital volunteer and loved to help others, and was an avid Alabama Football fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wilson Lee; two sons, Donald Edwin Lee and Robert Wilson Lee.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Wayne Lee (Karen); sisters, Annette Nichals and Darlene Steber; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held for Mary at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. the family received friends at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service.  Brother Shane Pate officiated.

Gloria Ellis Self was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength in the world for nearly 75 years.

Her life was devoted to promoting the happiness of everyone she met through unconditional love and support.

Her quick wit sparked laughter and her smile was contagious. Through her enduring marriage to Dan Self and devotion to her family, she fulfilled, and exceed, her future plans inscribed in her high school memory book to “get married and have a happy family.”

She found joy in creating beauty in daily life. Gloria was known for always having an open door for family and friends, both old and new, for every holiday and those days in-between. She would spend countless hours cooking, sewing, decorating and creating extravagant flower arrangements to ensure every detail was thoughtful and warm.

Her impeccable hosting abilities made any and every occasion special, and she took great care to make sure each person would take home meals to feed them for days and warm memories to last their lifetimes.

In addition to epitomizing the quintessential southern lady, she was the embodiment of strength, determination, and resilience. She was continually learning and taught herself how to invest, run a business, and use technology, among many other things. She used her learned skills and inherent traits to constantly support, encourage, and inspire others to achieve greatly, seek happiness, and find good in every person and circumstance.

During the last three decades of her life, she was lovingly called “Granny” by all who knew her. “Granny” will forever be synonymous with love and devotion, evoke warm memories, and inspire those that carry her in their hearts to strive to be the light in the world that she was.

Granny passed on October 9, 2017, and is survived by many loved ones including, Dan Self, Arthur and Betsy Ellis, Danny and Dawn Self, Dawn and Brad Childs, Kaley and Jason Karaffa, Daniel and Tessa Childs, Danna Self, and Devin Self. She was predeceased by her son Darrell Self and many other loved ones

Betty L. Leopard

Betty L. Leopard, age 86, of Argo, AL passed away on October 15, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Leopard; sisters, Lucille, Phoeba and Iv; brothers, James and Silas. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Thrasher (Tommy); son, Tim Leopard; grandchildren, Josh, Carman, Chad and Shawn (Hannah); numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18th. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Billy Argel Leopard

Billy Argel Leopard died on November 29, 2017. He was born in Red Bay, Alabama on June 15, 1932, to Harold Argel Leopard and Sarah Ada Kelly,

Billy Argel Leopard

Billy attended Red Bay schools for grades one through eight and graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. He immediately joined the United States Air Force, serving in Japan during the Korean conflict as a Special Morse Code Intercept Operator. He was honorably discharged on December 22, 1954. He returned to Tuscaloosa and attended the University of Alabama and took a job with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1954. With Southern Bell, Billy started as a lineman and held various jobs before being promoted to management in 1963. He and his family lived in Prattville and Opelika. He retired after 35 years of service on April 30, 1989, subsequently moving back to Tuscaloosa.

Billy was active in his local Church of Christ wherever he lived, serving as deacon and in other capacities. In Tuscaloosa, he attended Central Church of Christ. His family and children were always his main activity outside of work. He was an avid ham operator, having communicated with people in almost every country. Billy was a “dyed-in-the-wool” Alabama Crimson Tide football fan.

Billy was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Sara Perry Leopard, his twin brother, Bobby, and his younger brother, John Leopard.

He is survived by his beloved children: Lori Jane Leopard Buttram (Scott) of Trussville and Perry Argel Leopard of Paris, France, and his especially loved grandchildren, Sara Marie Buttram of Trussville and Jase (Molly) Buttram of Cullman, his sisters, Sarah Kelly Leopard Boone and Nancy Evans White of Tuscaloosa, his brothers Clyde Evans of Muscatine, Iowa and Tom Evans of Tuscaloosa.

Services will be held at the Central Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. Public visitation will be immediately before the services at 1 p.m. A private family visitation will be at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that gifts be made to the Central Church of Christ or your favorite charity.

Blake Ryan Smith

Blake Ryan Smith went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1997.

Blake loved the Lord and accepted Him as Savior on March 15, 2011. He answered the call to preach and was pursuing that calling at the Crown College of the Bible in Powell, Tennessee.

He often preached at Mountain View Baptist Church where he grew up and taught the 4th through 6th grade boys Sunday School class when he was home from college. Blake was an avid witness for Jesus Christ, sharing the gospel wherever he went. His faithfulness to the Lord was demonstrated in the Christian fruits that he bore.

We are comforted by the certainty that Blake is in a better place and by our faith that we will see him again.

Blake was predeceased by his great grandmother, Velma Decker; great grandfather, Ed Decker; and great grandmother, Mary Virginia McCollum.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kim Smith of Trussville; his sister, Brittany (Andrew) Fittis of Birmingham; his grandparents, Ben and Jean Brasher of Birmingham; grandfather, Ken Buck of San Rafael, California; grandparents, Fred and Sue Smith of Trussville; aunts and uncles, Jill and Greg Williams, Julie and Scott Nilsen, Kayla and Adam Hagood, Gwen Wheeler, Russell Smith, and a host of cousins.

Pall bearers will be Hunter Williams, Austin Williams, Brock Williams, Landen Williams, Travis Whitehead and Sam McGinnis.

Blake’s Celebration of Life Services will be Sunday February 11, 2018 at Mountain View Baptist Church 5568 Chalkville Mountain Road, Bham, Al 35235.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Services will follow at 3 p.m. Those unable to attend in person may watch via live stream at http://mountainviewbaptist.org/live-streaming.html.

OBITUARY: Mary Ann Pagan

Mary Ann Pagan, age 63, of Odenville, AL passed away on February 12, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Mary Vaughan; her sister, Bobbi Diaz; daughter, Angela Bender and her husband, Ismael Pagan. Mary is survived by her father, Raymond Vaughan and step-mother, Martha; sister, Kathy Pollack and brother, Raymond Vaughan, Jr.; her two sons, George Rittenhouse (Leslie) and Steven Rittenhouse (Rhea); daughter, Megan Glass (Kevin); eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on Saturday, February 17th at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior. Father Jerry Deasy will be presiding over the service. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery.


OBITUARY: Richard Harold Workman

Richard Harold Workman, 78, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC following prolonged illness.

Born in Gaston County, NC, the son of P.A. and Mary Catherine Young Workman. He resided in Black Mountain, NC. Richard went to college at the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee. Richard worked as a construction contractor for much of his life but more than anything he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.

He loved visiting with his granddaughters, attending their track meets, and knowing they were safe. He had great adventures to National Parks on RV trips with his family, always a lover of nature’s beauty and all creatures great and small. His favorite times of year was the emergence of Spring flowers, the harvest of Summer vegetables (a connoisseur of homemade tomato sauce and tomato sandwiches), and the color of Autumn leaves. Eating hotdogs and hamburgers with friends or watching movies with family was some of his favorite pastimes. Richard was a warm, witty, and sweet man, and he will be missed by his family, friends, and the community in Black Mountain.

Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Jo; his daughters Heidi (Jeffrey) and Heather (Rune); his granddaughters, Alexandria, Isabella, Olivia, Fionna, Aurora, and Louisa; his brother, Ronald (Marcia); and his nephew, Ronald, as well as many loving neighbors and friends.

John H. Monteabaro, age 63 of Springville, AL passed away on February 20, 2018.

He was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church. He was a Circulation Manager for the Birmingham News in the Birmingham  Eastern area for over 40 years, was a co-owner of Shirley’s Florist and also was a tax accountant.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Monteabaro; children, Sara Trucks (David) and Chris Monteabaro (Brandy); sister, Beth Weaver (Rick); brothers, Fred Monteabaro, Rod Monteabaro (Carol) and Wiley Monteabaro (Kimmie); grandchildren, Mack Trucks, Asa Trucks and Alyssa Monteabaro, several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22, 2013 from 1 to 3 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3 PM in the chapel and the burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Brad Smith will be officiating over the services. Jonathan David Burns

Jonathan David Burns was a fun loving, caring, generous soul who was always creating something for someone else that he could give away. He was a nature lover, who loved hunting, Alabama football, painting, drawing, sculpting and music. He wore red and the Big A almost daily.

He graduated in 2009 as a chemical engineer from the University of Alabama. His best friend was his mini Golden Doodle, Benny.

His older brother, Justen, was his hero. His younger sister, Jen, was his friend and life coach.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, James Larkin Newman. He is survived by his devoted parents, Jimmy and Linda Burns; his brother, Justen (Fabiola), niece, Isabella; his sister, Jennifer Averette (Michael), niece, Maddie, nephew, Axel; his grandmother, Jackie Newman; his grandparents, Bill and Ann Burns.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 19th at First Baptist Church of Trussville, at 10 a.m. A Memorial Service followed at noon. Following the service, there was a graveside service for family at Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery, 2200 Skyland Blvd. East in Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.

Charlene Barnett Thurmond

Charlene Barnett Thurmond was born in Birmingham the 6th of August, 1947; her death was the 26th of May, 2018, also in Birmingham.

She grew up here, attended Woodlawn High School, Class of 1965, and Jacksonville State University. After a successful career in selling real estate, Charlene decided on pursuing a dream of hers to operate a retail store selling fashionable clothing for women.

The Straw Hat in Trussville was born in 1999. Charlene put all her passion, her flair for fashion, and years of hard work into that business which still operates today. In addition, she was a devoted charter member of the Bible Study Fellowship when it began in Trussville five years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Thurmond, her brother, Henry “Hank” Schild, her daughter, Jennifer Barnett and her husband, Brett Andrews, stepchildren Sarah Austin Thurmond of Birmingham and John Christian Thurmond of San Francisco, nephew Henry “Trey” Schild, and finally Marco kitty cat “what Momma loved”.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 12 pm until 1 pm at First united Methodist Church of Trussville, 120 Chalkville Road North, Trussville 35173 with the ceremony following at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers or any other memorial gift, please make a donation to the First United Methodist Church of Trussville Building Fund at the same address.

She was a tiny woman with the footprints of a giant-both on the earth and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Jerry Earl Hazel

Jerry Earl Hazel, 71, of Trussville, Al., went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 5, 2018. Jerry was born in Coosa County June 17, 1946 and raised in Trussville, where he graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School. In 1971, he joined the Birmingham Police Department where he worked for more than 20 years. He retired as a Sergeant in 1992. He went on to become a contractor and establish Jerry Hazel Construction where he spent more than 25 years building fine family homes. He was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Trussville.

Jerry Earl Hazel

Jerry was a devoted husband, father and friend. He loved many things; weekends at Lake Logan Martin, cheering on The Crimson Tide at the University of Alabama and restoring antique cars and hot rods. Above all else, he loved his family and was fiercely devoted to everyone in his life.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda, his daughter, Kimberly (Brett) Johnson and his grandchildren Reece, Drake and Coye, who will be born later this summer. He is also survived by his daughter, Dawn (Carlos) Martinez and his granddaughter, Angelina. He is also survived by his sisters, Micshelle (Terry) DeWitt, and Darthey Jackson, brother, William (Kathy) Hazel, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Jemmie R. Hazel, his father, Grover W. Hazel, his sisters, Mary Herndon and Betty Crouse and his brother, Jimmy Joe (Fran) Hazel.

The family wishes to extend their warmest thanks to Dr. Shaily Lakhanpal of Alabama Oncology, Dr. Taylor Bragg of Urology Centers of Alabama, as well as the nursing staff at St. Vincent’s East Hospital.

The funeral service will be Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. The family will receive visitors from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m.

Obituary: Glenda “Sister Glenn” Mashayekh

Glenda “Sister Glenn” Mashayekh, age 69 of Bessemer passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018.

Glenda was a 1966 graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. She retired from ACIPCO after working there for almost 45 years. Glenda was an avid Auburn fan who stood her ground while surrounded by a family of Alabama fans.

She was a loving wife, mother, and Gigi who always put everyone’s needs before hers. She was always smiling regardless of the situation. One of her favorite sayings, especially when things were going South, was “Aren’t we having fun now? Gigi was always ready for a snuggle with the grand kids while sneaking them the chocolate they wanted. We will see you in Heaven. Love you Kiddo.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jean Glenn. She is survived by her husband, Hamid Mashayekh; her children, Hamid Mashayekh Jr. (Jayme) and Leila Avant (Craig); her grandchildren, Ashton and Gavin Avant and Grayson and Rylie Mashayekh; her brothers GeorgeToody Glenn, Gene SlatzGlenn (Pat), William “Billy” Glenn (Lynn) and Robert “Bobby” Glenn (Robin); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5 pm until 6 pm at Trussville First United Methodist Church followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 pm. Pastor Bill Etheridge officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of Glenda Mashayekh.

Obituary: William Thomas (Tommy) Johnson

Johnson, William Thomas (Tommy) age 73, died Saturday, June 16, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Johnson, his mother Willene Thomas Johnson and his brother John Edward Johnson Jr. He leaves behind a loving wife of 51 years, Marsha Gerelds Johnson, two children: William Thomas (Tommy) Johnson Jr. (Debbie), Leslie Johnson Rittenhouse (George). Seven grandchildren; Ellie Light (David), Hunter Johnson (Taylor), Austin Wiley, Abbey Johnson, Anna Grace Johnson, Ed Johnson and Rylee Rittenhouse, two great grandchildren;  Sawyer Wilson and Lakelynn Light.

Tommy (Bubba) was an active member of Argo Christian Fellowship for 37 years. He was the Founder of Institutional Sales Systems, Inc. and the former CEO of The Christian Service Mission.  He continued, after his retirement, helping with food donations and distribution for many charitable organizations. He was a Warbler at Woodlawn High School and a member of the Kool Kats quartet.

Obituary: Charles T. “Wormy” Atkinson

Charles T. “Wormy” Atkinson passed away at the age of 76 on June 19, 2018. Charles was a native of Bainbridge, GA where he grew up.

He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. He was also a member of Local 72 out of Atlanta, GA and Southern Trap & Skeet of Birmingham, AL.

Charles enjoyed playing football when he was in high school and later in life his hobbies became hunting and fishing. He was a retired welder and pipe fitter.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nancy Atkinson. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Ann; his three children: Stephanie A. Miller and her husband, Kevin, Charles T. “Charlie” Atkinson, Jr. and his wife, Karol and James Daniel “Danny” Atkinson and his wife, Danna.

He is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Farrah Williams and her husband, Zane, Corey Atkinson and his wife, Brandi, Ashley Godwin and his wife, Trisha, Wesley Godwin and his wife, Ashley, Scott Atkinson, Emily Cloninger, Steven Malloy, Garrett A. Miller, Kaitlin Miller and Kylee Miller and eighteen great grandchildren.

Charles’ funeral service will be held at 2PM on Friday, June 22nd at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. A visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior. A committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery.

There will also be a Celebration of life ceremony held on June 23rd at 2857 Old Whigham Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817 from 1:00 PM-2:30 PM.

Charles T. “Papa” Maffet, 87, of Center Point passed away on June 21, 2018.

Charles went to Tarrant High School. He was a Mason and U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Church of Christ in Tarrant.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret and his parents, Frank and Veda Maffet.

He is survived by his daughter, Charla Carden (Jimmy); his two granddaughters, Casi Selph (Jonathan) and Cori Cline (Robby); his three great grandchildren, Chace, Levi and Maggie.

A funeral service for Charles will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26th at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

The Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining gardens. Brother Dewey Corder and Brother Joel Carden will preside over the service.

Obituary: Adria “Mike” Palmer Ellis

Adria “Mike” Palmer Ellis was born to James and Margaret Palmer on July 15, 1949. Adria was a resident of Trussville, AL and passed away on July 14, 2018.

She was a graduate of Phillips High School in Birmingham. She also graduated from Sanford, where she received her BS; she also graduated from the University of Alabama, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received two Masters. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Moody, AL.

She retired as a Behavior Specialist from Shelby County Schools. There will be a visitation held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, July 18th.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 1:00 p.m. also at the church. Adria is survived by her loving husband, Joe Ellis; her two daughters, Rebekah Probst (Eric) and Rachel Dickinson (Mitch); a sister, Ginger Williams (Nash); grandchildren, Margaret, Emily, Abby, Lief, Ella and Abel. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Shirley G. Frederick, age 76 of Mt. Olive, AL passed away at her home on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She was a native of Hayden, AL and a graduate of Tarrant High school. She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist.

Shirley liked birds and tending to her flower garden, but especially loved crafts and baking. She was known for her infamous Christmas cookies she made every year, along with her gorgeous, handmade Christmas ornaments. She enjoyed visiting Gulf Shores and traveling with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester F. Henderson and Bertha L. Henderson.  Shirley is survived by her loving husband, of 56 years, Dwade Frederick; her two children, Alan Frederick and Sandra Hicks (Scottie); her brother Curtis Henderson (Jean), of TN. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral for Shirley will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22nd at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Trussville.

Visitation will be held one hour prior. Brother George Weeks is officiating.

Johnnie Bea Farmer passed away, at 85, on July31, 2018. She was a resident of Trussville, Aland a member of Central Baptist Church.

Johnnie was born in Eden, AL and grew up in White Plains, AL in Calhoun County. She was a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School and Jefferson State where she got her degree in business. After marrying Clifton Farmer, she moved to Pinson, AL where they raised their two sons.

Johnnie was the proud business owner of Clifton Farmer Roofing. Johnnie was a devoted Christian. She was baptized by her father when she was 12 years old. Johnnie enjoyed traveling and has visited numerous countries.

She was a loving mother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death her loving husband of61 ears, Clifton Farmer. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Flora Davis; her four sisters, Virginia, Alma, Bernice “Doodle”; her three brothers, Marlin, Ed and Wilbur. She is survived by her loving, sons, Neal Farmer and David D. Farmer and numerous niece and nephews.

Johnnies funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery.
